Privacy Policy

What we collect
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, whether you have confirmed, and whether you have unsubscribed. That is all we ask for.
When you visit the site we record an anonymous page view along with the country your request came from (as reported by our hosting provider). We do not record your IP address, name, or any account information, and we do not use tracking cookies.
How we use it
Your email address is used only to send you the Aw Shucks newsletter and messages about your subscription (such as a confirmation link). We do not sell or rent your address to anyone. If an issue is sponsored, the sponsor never receives subscriber data.
Page-view counts and countries are shown in aggregate on the site (for example, “readers in 18 countries”) and help us understand where good news is travelling.
Who else handles your data
We use Resend to deliver email, Supabase to store subscriber records, and Vercel to host the site. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Your choices
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your address entirely by writing to hello@awshucks.news. If you are in the EU/UK you additionally have the right to access, correct, or export the data we hold about you — email us and we will respond promptly.
Content
Aw Shucks aggregates headlines and short summaries from news publishers and links to their sites. Those publishers have their own privacy policies which apply once you click through.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, mention it in the newsletter.
